Dr. Kemp completed his BSc in physics with music and his PhD in theoretical and experimental acoustics at the University of Edinburgh. He also has a diploma in electric guitar from London College of Music.

He has experience in acosutic measurement, software development and consulting as well as teaching acoustics, digital signal processing, physical modelling systhesis and music technology in Universities of Edinburgh, St. Andrews, Abertay and the Open University.
